SCOTT EMERSON's  ECLECTIC international career has ranged from Opera to Oratorio, Musical Theatre/Operetta to American Songbook and Vintage Jazz.

Recent highlights include: 2023/2024 season - a new Paul-Emile Fourny production of TITANIC (Charles Clarke) at Opera-Theatre de l’Eurometropole de Metz. 2022/2023 season - Alain Garichot’s production of EUGENE ONEGIN (Mr. Triquet) at Opera de Massy. 2021/2022 season - the French premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s SOUTH PACIFIC (Captain Brackett) at Opera de Toulon, a new production of Offenbach’s BA-TA-CLAN (Fé-ni-Han), continuing the series of JAZZ AGE CENTENAIRE (Edition: 1921…”Live” Transatlantic Trends!) at the PHONO Museum, Paris. Participating in Blanca Li’s latest creation: LE BAL DE PARIS (an immersive show in VR/virtual reality) presented at the Theatre National de la Dance Chaillot, Le Theatre le Palace - Paris, Teatros de Canal- Madrid Spain, The Barbican Centre - London, The Theatre de Liege, Belgium, at The Flux Laboratory in Geneva, and the Spoletto Festival Italy… and winning the Prix “Best VR Experience for interactive content” at the 2021 Venice International Film Festival! 2019/2020 season: Jerome Savary’s legendary production of LA VIE PARISIENNE (Le Bresilien and Frick) at Opera Theatre-Metz Metropole and at Opera de Massy, and INTO THE WOODS at Opera de Toulon. In 2018/2019 Paul-Emile Fourny’s new production of TOSCA (Spoletta) at Opera Theatre-Metz Metropole, a NEW French - Olivier Benezech production of Stephen Sondheim's INTO THE WOODS (Narrator, Mysterious Man, Jack’s Mother, Cinderella’s Stepmother and Granny!) with La Clef des Chants, on tour throughout France: Theatre Monsigny, Opera de Reims, Opera de Massy, Festival Hardelot, Theatre de la Croix-Rousse… ASSASSINS (Guiteau) at Short North Stage, the Bernstein Centennial #BernsteinAt100 and 2018 Grand Prix International du DVD Opera- Academie Charles Cros: Olivier Benezech's 2018 French premier of WONDERFUL TOWN (Valenti/Tourguide) at Opera de Toulon, Paul-Emile Fourny's last revival of MY FAIR LADY (V.F.) at Opera de Tours, the world premiere of Patrick Zimmerli's Oratorio ALAN SEEGER: INSTRUMENT OF DESTINY with pianist Thomas Enhco,  Stephen Mear's new production of 42ND STREET (Mac) at the Theatre du Chatelet, Paul-Emile Fourny's latest revival of Britten's MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM (Puck) at Opera de Metz, SINGIN' IN THE RAIN - The Origins, concert at Opera de Bordeaux with Spirit of Chicago Orchestra, SWEENEY TODD (Pirelli/Fogg) - in Olivier Benezech's new production at the Festival d'Hardelot and at Opera de Reims starring Jerome Pradon,  INTO THE WOODS in Lee Blakeley's fourth installation of the Paris Sondheim Cycle at the Theatre du Chatelet, Sarna Lapine's new production of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (Franz/Dennis) with Short North Stage, and the prizewinning "Supersized" Lee Blakeley production - French premiere of SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE (Mr.) at the Theatre du Chatelet- Paris, starring Julian Ovenden. Two new productions of SWEENEY TODD- Gateway Playhouse- Long Island, New York (Pirelli) and The French premiere of SWEENEY TODD at the Theatre du Châtelet, starring Rod Gilfry and Caroline O’Connor (ensemble and U/S Pirelli). Also, productions of TOSCA (Spoletta) with Opera de Massy conducted by Antonello Allemandi, and Poulenc’s LES MAMELLES DE TIRESIAS (le mari) with the Cormatin summer festival produced by the Jean-Louis Martin-Barbaz Studio Company. 

Beginning in 1992, Scott was in the Young Artists Program at Virginia Opera for two seasons, and later became a company member and soloist with the French National Opera in Lyon 1994-1997, for three seasons. Since 1994, he has been associated with the Opera-Comique, Paris as a guest artist, and was principal tenor for three seasons 1997-2000, singing over 100 performances in such works as: LE COMTE ORY, DON GIOVANNI, IL MATRIMONIO SEGRETO, LA SONNAMBULA, LES MAMELLES DE TIRESIAS, CARMEN and L’HEURE ESPAGNOLE. He has appeared with equal success in both opera and operetta throughout France: Paris, Lyon, Marseille, Strasbourg, Nice, Saint-Etienne, Avignon, Nantes, Metz, Tours, Reims, Festival Aix-en-Provence…

International highlights have included debuts in Milan (Fabio Vacchi’s LA STATION THERMALE) San Francisco (Prokofiev’s LOVE OF THREE ORANGES) and Santiago, Chile (Rossini’s IL BARBIERE DI SIVIGLIA).
